Personal Experience

Suren is a Legal Counsel at D. L. & F. De Saram with extensive experience in dispute resolution and litigation, including customs and excise disputes.. Having commenced his legal career at the Attorney General’s Department of Sri Lanka, he is known for his astute and efficient courtroom craft, analytical skills and strategy necessary for delivering results for clients.  

Academic and Professional Qualifications

  • Masters in Law (LLM) (University College London) (University of London) (1998).
  • LLB Hons. – University of Wales College, Cardiff (1995)
  • Attorney-at-Law – Supreme Court of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka (1997)
  • Barrister of Gray’s Inn – Barrister-at-Law England and Wales (1996)
  • Special Training Program on Commercial Law at City University, Hong Kong, (2002)
  • Council Member and Convenor, of the Constitutional Amendment Committee of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka
  • Member of the National Intellectual Property Commission (2002/2003)
