He possesses extensive academic and professional qualifications which include LL.B (Hons) University of London (2005), B.A. (Bachelor of Arts) University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka (2006), Post Graduate Diploma in Conflict Resolution from University of Colombo, Sri Lanka (2009), Attorney-at-Law, Supreme Court of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka (2008).
