Electronic Container Clearance (E-Clearance) - Port and Terminal Services Online

Port and Terminal Services Online

In support of the safety procedures and social distancing directives issued by the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Ports and shipping of Sri Lanka together with the Sri Lanka Ports Authority, introduced Electronic Documentation/ electronic Delivery Orders (EDO)/ E-clearance services. Accordingly, with effect from 4th May 2020, and all terminals are required to only accept electronically submitted import clearance documents and release electronic Delivery Advice/Gate Passes.

Implementation of the e-clearance process is an attempt to reduce health and safety risks by eradicating physical interactions during the container release process. It is also expected to eliminate the need for Custom House Agents (CHAs) to visit the Terminal Documentation Centre.
